It has begun...sports!!!!

We have been eagerly awaiting the day for Parker to be able to join a sports team. This day arrive in November when I signed him up for Kinderball at Germantown United Methodist Church. He was beside himself! He kept talking about his basketball team and when would the games start. The league didn't start games until after December, so that all of the hullabaloo could die down from Christmas. Well, his games began in January and he has had a total blast! It is hilarious to watch these 4, 5, and 6 year olds trying to dribble a basketball down the court. I love this league because when the kids are on defense, they can't get out of the black box. It gives the offense time to learn how to pass the ball and to dribble in and try to make a basket. However, once the offense gets inside the box that the defense is in, it is a FREE FOR ALL! I am going to video his game Sunday and try to upload it to here so you can get the full effect. The other thing that is good about this league is that they do not keep score. It really takes the pressure off and helps the kids focus on learning the skills necessary for playing basketball. Here are a few pics from his first game.
All smiles as he warms up.....
Practicing his free throws.....
Waiting patiently for his turn.....
Layup...don't even know if that's how you spell that!
Hoping someone passes the ball to him.....
Aunt LaLa and Uncle Walter came to see his big game. He was so excited!

Parker has his first T-Ball practice on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.! UGH!! I really like to sleep on Saturdays. However, I know that our life will now be dedicated to T-Ball. Parker is playing for GYAA and the fields are literally right across the road from our house. He is beyond excited about baseball. He will be on the Orioles team. I will post pics of this latest adventure after his practice Saturday. We have a pretty uneventful weekend coming up. I am excited that Jenny and Pat will be in town! Hopefully we will be able to get the kids together and let them play.
