I have GOT to be better...

At updating! I mean seriously, how hard is it for me to find a few moments every few days to update this. Apparently, it is very hard right now! HA HA Anyway, Caroline went for her 4 month check up on Tuesday and she did awesome! She weighed 14.3 lbs and was 24 1/2 inches long. We were given the go ahead for cereal (which I had already started) and fruits/veggies. She is LOVING squash. She is such a happy baby and completely OPPOSITE from Parker. I can already tell she is going to be a girly girl...we will see how long that lasts, though. She is not near as messy as Parker was. I will post some pics as soon as I can figure out why my stupid computer won't let me move pics!

Well it's official

Parker is 5 years old now! I can't believe it. I seriously don't know where the time has gone. It seems just like yesterday that he was Caroline's age. He had a low key day yesterday(the big day). He opened presents with David, myself, and my mom. Caroline was asleep through the entire thing...which I can't believe. He will have a bowling party tomorrow. I can't wait to see all the boys from his class trying to bowl...it is going to be a trip! He requested cleats and chalk for his birthday...you will see below he got way more than that. I didn't post pics of him opening those items, but he did receive them:) I also started a tradition last year and made his birthday cake for the family party. Well, this year we went looking for a Batman cake mold because that is what he wanted. We didn't find one, but Spiderman was in stock. So guess what I got to make?! You got it, a Spiderman cake. Look below to see how it turned out. Hopefully I will have some funny stories to blog about after tomorrow's party.
He wanted us to all know he is 5 now
His loot
Inspecting his present...he is definitely his father's son!
He loves leggos..and Indiana Jones!
I think "Wow" were his exact words here.
Grandmomma got him a Crank and Launch Batman and a Batcycle...too fun!

The Terrible Blogger I am

I have been so busy since I have been back at work, that I keep forgetting to update my blog! So just to catch everyone up to speed...Caroline is sleeping really well in her crib. She wakes for 1 feeding still, but I think that will change as soon as she is bumped up to 5 to 6 oz of formula. She doesn't really seem to want to eat more than 4oz, so I can't decide if it is time to bump her up or not. The doc said she wouldn't take 6 oz until around 4 months. She is such a happy baby and has been a blessing to our family. I worried that I would struggle to love a 2nd child as much as I love Parker. Let me just say, I LOVE HER as much as Parker and in a completely different way. Those of you who have 2 or soon will have 2 children, you will understand. And having a boy and a girl is so unique. I didn't realize how different they would be, but they are! Parker will be 5 next Friday. I am completely in shock about that. It seems like just yesterday I was having him. He is such a pistol and keeps us on our toes. He likes to act like he is Caroline's parent, too. He is extremely involved with all things pertaining to "sister." I am enjoying being back at work as much as I can. I miss her, but she is doing so good at her daycare that I really can't complain. Here are a few pics from the past few weeks. Hope you are all doing well!

Sibling love...she is 8 weeks 3 days old here. This is the morning I went back to work.
My precious babies! Every mommy thinks their children are the cutest:)Happy 2 months old to me! I asked David to take a picture of her on her 2 month birthday and this is what we got!!!!! Priceless I know!
My new smocked dress mommy bought for me because she doesn't have time to smock a Halloween dress. Everytime I look at this, I think she is "sitting pretty"Brother was begging to be in a picture. He does have more shirts, but he is completely obsessed with this tshirt at the moment.
Surprise! I guess the flash caught her off guard...I love the expression on her face though.Smiling for mommy and the camera.

This is my new trick, I would much rather eat my hands than suck on my paci. I also like to grab my clothes or my lovie and shove it in my mouth:)Just hanging out with mommy.
Hopefully I will be updating more frequently now. We will see:)

Memphis Gear

Here is a picture of the precious onesie and tshirt that I had made for Parker and Caroline. While Parker's tshirt was my friend's idea, I came up with the idea for Caroline's. It's not the clearest of pictures, but you get the general idea. My friend's company is called "I Am All In Stitches." She can do anything you want...she is AWESOME! Her website is www.iamallinstitches.com and her name is Robin Trusty. She has some items on her website, but will do anything you would like her to. I highly recommend her!

Caroline is growing...

Well, I headed back to work this week and it has gone pretty smooth! I have to say that I miss her something awful during the day, but I knew this was coming and that I would be going back to work. Caroline had her 2 month check up last Thursday and here are her stats...
HT- 22 1/4, inches, WT- 11.3 lbs, Head Circumference- 39.5 cm.
Here are Parker's stats from his 2 month checkup...
HT- 22 1/2 inches, WT- 11.10 lbs, Head Circumference- 39 cm.
They are definitely close together wouldn't you say? She eats about every 3 hours and is such a happy baby. We have been so blessed to have 2 great children! She only wakes for 1 night time feeding and is going to sleep on her own. We also moved her to her crib last week because I could hear EVERY move she made. Here are a few pictures that have been taken over the past few weeks.

All dressed up for church. She sat with David and I during the entire service and was a perfect angel.

Parker absolutely LOVES his baby sister. Half the time he is in her face and the other half he is mad at us because he is trying to take care of her and we are telling him that he can't:( She is going to think she has 3 parents with as much as he tries to do for her. He is really sweet to her.
And a picture of mom and baby. I realized this weekend that I didn't have any pictures of Caroline and I except from the hospital. I am the one always taking the pictures! I wanted one for my desk at work and this is the one we took. Hope all of you are doing well. Will post more pictures soon!

Comparisons at 1 month old...

Here are a few comparison pictures of Parker at 1 month old and Caroline at 1 month old. There are some distinct differences and some distinct similarities...what do you think???

Parker #1
Caroline #1Parker #2
Caroline #2

It is still hard to believe that I have 2 children. Having 2 is not near as hard as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it isn't easy, but it seems to be the way life was supposed to be. The hardest thing is sharing the time between both of them. It was just yesterday that Parker was her age and now he is rapidly approaching 5. I can't believe it!

Caroline's 1st Swim

Friday was the 4 week mark of Caroline's arrival into this world! I can't believe how time has flown by. I will be heading back to work when she is 8 weeks old and I am really sad that I have to go back....but we all know how that goes. At this point in her life, she is sleeping better than I EVER expected. Most nights we do not get up. Here and there we will get up for 1 feeding. I think God knew I needed a child that would love sleep as much as I do! HA HA She is smiling some and gets really focused on certain things. I wish I could read what was going on in that little mind of hers:-) Parker has adjusted extremely well to having her here. He is SOOOO over protective and wants to know where she is at all times. When I pick him up from school, the first thing out of his mouth if I don't have her with me is, "Where is sister?" He is a tremendous help and is starting to understand that Daddy has to help mommy too. At first this was extremely difficult for him to understand. We spent her 4 week old birthday at my parent's house swimming. Both kids had a blast I think!
I love to hold my baby sister!
Grammy, Parker and CarolineI love the pool!Chillin' by the poolAll the excitement wore me out!

First Road Trip as Fam of 4

Last weekend we went to visit David's parents in Huntingdon. Caroline was exactly 3 weeks old, which happened to be the same age Parker was when he took his first road trip there. We spent the weekend relaxing as much as we could and visiting with some of David's friends he grew up with. This was the first time that David's step-dad met Caroline and I must say, she was a perfect little princess! Here are a few pictures from the trip.
Look at me, I am 3 weeks old!Parker with Lainie, Joey's daughter...they are 6 months apart in age.The infamous Brent...David took this because he figured it would be another 5 years before we see him again!Little miss sleeping in her daddy's bassinet.Parker playing a little golfNose to noseMy sweet kidsI love Parker's expression!Daddy's little girl...I think he is already wrapped!
Parker's first experience with watermelon...he HATED it and would spit it over the railing...good thing we were in the country:)Parker and his MimiDavid trying hard to get Parker to try watermelon again...Daddy is that too big of a bite???
Caroline with Macmac and Mimi

It really was nice to get away and attempt to relax. David really enjoyed what few days he had left before he had to go back to work. Pretty soon I will be heading back....it is going by too quickly!

Just a quick update

It has been a little hectic at the Nannie household. Caroline is doing GREAT and is such a happy baby. We are very blessed! She weighed 8lbs on Thursday 7/31 and got a great bill of health from the doctor for her 2 week check up. She has been out and about with David and I. She is definitely a trooper. She went to my school 4 different days while David and I set my classroom up. I think with the second child you tend to be a little more relaxed and you just go with the flow. Having 2 children hasn't been that bad of an adjustment. What has been bad is the sibling jealousy that Parker is exhibiting. We know that it will just take time for him to get used to everything, but he truly adores his sister. Here are a few pics from the past couple of weeks.

My mom, Parker and Caroline the day we came home from the hospital.
Caroline and Gracely's first meeting! It's hard to believe that Gracely weighed 5.9 lbs 7 weeks before this picture was taken. She and Caroline are going to have so much fun growing up together. They are exactly 6 weeks apart:)Aunt Allie, Parker and Caroline...how cute!
Aunt Allie and Caroline...they share a GREAT first name!

Our new addition...

Well, it's been a week since I delivered Caroline and I figured it was time for me to update on our family. Last Friday, the 18th of July, I was scheduled to be induced at 6:00 a.m. I woke up around 2:30 not feeling great and much to my surprise I began having contractions at 3:00 a.m. I timed them for a while, got in the shower and by 4:30 was out and telling David it was time. We got there 40 mins before I was scheduled to be there. I explained that I was in labor and that the contractions were coming every 5 to 6 mins. That apparently didn't matter because I waited for 40 mins crying and in pain. Once I was back in a room, my contractions became more intense, but because I had not had my bag of fluids, they couldn't give me the epidural. I was able to get a little relief with stadol...but I will not take that again. I felt completely out of my mind. They gave me my epidural around 7:30 and checked to see if I had dilated...I went from 4 cm to 8 cm in an hour and a half....but the epidural caused me to stall so they did give me a little pitocin to kick me over the 8 cm mark. Everything went smooth and I was able to push her out in 3 pushes...sorry if that was too graphic! Recovery has been great and I am feeling back to my old self. Here are some pics from Caroline's first days...
She's here!
Parker finally getting to hold his baby sister...he has on a big brother shirt that is embroidered with, "I'm the Big Brother" and it has the Memphis Tiger emblem on it! Caroline will have a matching onesie soon.
Aunt LaLa and Uncle Biggs...their daughter Gracely is exactly 6 weeks older than Caroline.
Finally out of the hospital bed.
