Well it happened...

Who would have ever thought I would be having a 3rd child?!  Yes, you read that correctly, I'm pregnant.  I'm due August 1, 2012.  It was a complete shock, or rather, not planned.  However, God is in control and HE knows what he's doing.  Parker and Caroline are completely thrilled about the idea of a baby brother or baby sister.  Too bad we will have to wait a while until we know the sex of the baby.

I went to the doctor on Monday and had an ultrasound where the sac could be seen.  It almost felt like an out of body experience.  I was lying there thinking, "Is this for real?"  Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but am completely scared of the number 3...how will I have the patience, kindness, time, strength, etc to handle #3.  I have to remind myself I'm not in control.  Everything happens for a reason.

I have a simple request for any of you who are reading this...please say a prayer for my friend L.Y.  She will be undergoing her 2nd attempt at IVF and she is the most deserving, wonderful person I know.  I pray that she will get to become a mother during this cycle.

I will attempt to update this blog much better than I have.

It has begun...sports!!!!

We have been eagerly awaiting the day for Parker to be able to join a sports team. This day arrive in November when I signed him up for Kinderball at Germantown United Methodist Church. He was beside himself! He kept talking about his basketball team and when would the games start. The league didn't start games until after December, so that all of the hullabaloo could die down from Christmas. Well, his games began in January and he has had a total blast! It is hilarious to watch these 4, 5, and 6 year olds trying to dribble a basketball down the court. I love this league because when the kids are on defense, they can't get out of the black box. It gives the offense time to learn how to pass the ball and to dribble in and try to make a basket. However, once the offense gets inside the box that the defense is in, it is a FREE FOR ALL! I am going to video his game Sunday and try to upload it to here so you can get the full effect. The other thing that is good about this league is that they do not keep score. It really takes the pressure off and helps the kids focus on learning the skills necessary for playing basketball. Here are a few pics from his first game.
All smiles as he warms up.....
Practicing his free throws.....
Waiting patiently for his turn.....
Layup...don't even know if that's how you spell that!
Hoping someone passes the ball to him.....
Aunt LaLa and Uncle Walter came to see his big game. He was so excited!

Parker has his first T-Ball practice on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.! UGH!! I really like to sleep on Saturdays. However, I know that our life will now be dedicated to T-Ball. Parker is playing for GYAA and the fields are literally right across the road from our house. He is beyond excited about baseball. He will be on the Orioles team. I will post pics of this latest adventure after his practice Saturday. We have a pretty uneventful weekend coming up. I am excited that Jenny and Pat will be in town! Hopefully we will be able to get the kids together and let them play.

The Time is flying

I can't believe that Caroline will be 7 months old next Wednesday. Seriously, it seems like just yesterday I was at the hospital having her. She is so sweet and a little princess. We can already tell she is going to be prissy. Parker is still completely in love with his baby sis sis, as he calls her. He has so many nicknames for her. Her stats at her 6 month check up were 18 lbs and 26 inches long. She is in the 50-75th percentile, being more close to the 75th range. Parker was 18.3 lbs and 27 inches at his 6 month check up. It is still amazing to me how pretty close together they are on everything. Caroline cut two teeth today! Yes, her bottom two erupted sometime between yesterday afternoon and this afternoon. It is such a bittersweet time. I enjoy the kids getting older, but I get a little sad sometimes thinking about them not being babies for long. Half the time I forget Parker is 5! Caroline is also crawling backwards. It is hilarious. She does a little push up before she pushes herself backwards. I am going to try and catch it on video. Here are a few pictures from Caroline and Parker.

I couldn't resist this picture! I think baby butts are SO CUTE! And yes, her hair is finally growing back in where her bald spot is. However, it's BLOND so you can't see it.

Such a happy baby. She loves to sit up now. She really hates to be lying on the ground or to be doing tummy time.HAPPY SNOW DAY!
She will kill me for this later, I am sure!
Um, Parker can't you get me out of this mess?!?!?!?

Till next time.....

I have GOT to be better...

At updating! I mean seriously, how hard is it for me to find a few moments every few days to update this. Apparently, it is very hard right now! HA HA Anyway, Caroline went for her 4 month check up on Tuesday and she did awesome! She weighed 14.3 lbs and was 24 1/2 inches long. We were given the go ahead for cereal (which I had already started) and fruits/veggies. She is LOVING squash. She is such a happy baby and completely OPPOSITE from Parker. I can already tell she is going to be a girly girl...we will see how long that lasts, though. She is not near as messy as Parker was. I will post some pics as soon as I can figure out why my stupid computer won't let me move pics!

Well it's official

Parker is 5 years old now! I can't believe it. I seriously don't know where the time has gone. It seems just like yesterday that he was Caroline's age. He had a low key day yesterday(the big day). He opened presents with David, myself, and my mom. Caroline was asleep through the entire thing...which I can't believe. He will have a bowling party tomorrow. I can't wait to see all the boys from his class trying to bowl...it is going to be a trip! He requested cleats and chalk for his birthday...you will see below he got way more than that. I didn't post pics of him opening those items, but he did receive them:) I also started a tradition last year and made his birthday cake for the family party. Well, this year we went looking for a Batman cake mold because that is what he wanted. We didn't find one, but Spiderman was in stock. So guess what I got to make?! You got it, a Spiderman cake. Look below to see how it turned out. Hopefully I will have some funny stories to blog about after tomorrow's party.
He wanted us to all know he is 5 now
His loot
Inspecting his present...he is definitely his father's son!
He loves leggos..and Indiana Jones!
I think "Wow" were his exact words here.
Grandmomma got him a Crank and Launch Batman and a Batcycle...too fun!

The Terrible Blogger I am

I have been so busy since I have been back at work, that I keep forgetting to update my blog! So just to catch everyone up to speed...Caroline is sleeping really well in her crib. She wakes for 1 feeding still, but I think that will change as soon as she is bumped up to 5 to 6 oz of formula. She doesn't really seem to want to eat more than 4oz, so I can't decide if it is time to bump her up or not. The doc said she wouldn't take 6 oz until around 4 months. She is such a happy baby and has been a blessing to our family. I worried that I would struggle to love a 2nd child as much as I love Parker. Let me just say, I LOVE HER as much as Parker and in a completely different way. Those of you who have 2 or soon will have 2 children, you will understand. And having a boy and a girl is so unique. I didn't realize how different they would be, but they are! Parker will be 5 next Friday. I am completely in shock about that. It seems like just yesterday I was having him. He is such a pistol and keeps us on our toes. He likes to act like he is Caroline's parent, too. He is extremely involved with all things pertaining to "sister." I am enjoying being back at work as much as I can. I miss her, but she is doing so good at her daycare that I really can't complain. Here are a few pics from the past few weeks. Hope you are all doing well!

Sibling love...she is 8 weeks 3 days old here. This is the morning I went back to work.
My precious babies! Every mommy thinks their children are the cutest:)Happy 2 months old to me! I asked David to take a picture of her on her 2 month birthday and this is what we got!!!!! Priceless I know!
My new smocked dress mommy bought for me because she doesn't have time to smock a Halloween dress. Everytime I look at this, I think she is "sitting pretty"Brother was begging to be in a picture. He does have more shirts, but he is completely obsessed with this tshirt at the moment.
Surprise! I guess the flash caught her off guard...I love the expression on her face though.Smiling for mommy and the camera.

This is my new trick, I would much rather eat my hands than suck on my paci. I also like to grab my clothes or my lovie and shove it in my mouth:)Just hanging out with mommy.
Hopefully I will be updating more frequently now. We will see:)

Memphis Gear

Here is a picture of the precious onesie and tshirt that I had made for Parker and Caroline. While Parker's tshirt was my friend's idea, I came up with the idea for Caroline's. It's not the clearest of pictures, but you get the general idea. My friend's company is called "I Am All In Stitches." She can do anything you want...she is AWESOME! Her website is www.iamallinstitches.com and her name is Robin Trusty. She has some items on her website, but will do anything you would like her to. I highly recommend her!

Caroline is growing...

Well, I headed back to work this week and it has gone pretty smooth! I have to say that I miss her something awful during the day, but I knew this was coming and that I would be going back to work. Caroline had her 2 month check up last Thursday and here are her stats...
HT- 22 1/4, inches, WT- 11.3 lbs, Head Circumference- 39.5 cm.
Here are Parker's stats from his 2 month checkup...
HT- 22 1/2 inches, WT- 11.10 lbs, Head Circumference- 39 cm.
They are definitely close together wouldn't you say? She eats about every 3 hours and is such a happy baby. We have been so blessed to have 2 great children! She only wakes for 1 night time feeding and is going to sleep on her own. We also moved her to her crib last week because I could hear EVERY move she made. Here are a few pictures that have been taken over the past few weeks.

All dressed up for church. She sat with David and I during the entire service and was a perfect angel.

Parker absolutely LOVES his baby sister. Half the time he is in her face and the other half he is mad at us because he is trying to take care of her and we are telling him that he can't:( She is going to think she has 3 parents with as much as he tries to do for her. He is really sweet to her.
And a picture of mom and baby. I realized this weekend that I didn't have any pictures of Caroline and I except from the hospital. I am the one always taking the pictures! I wanted one for my desk at work and this is the one we took. Hope all of you are doing well. Will post more pictures soon!
