This day arrive in November when I signed him up for Kinderball at Germantown United Methodist Church. He was beside himself! He kept talking about his basketball team and when would the games start. The league didn't start games until after December, so that all of the hullabaloo could die down from Christmas. Well, his games began in January and he has had a total blast! It is hilarious to watch these 4, 5, and 6 year olds trying to dribble a basketball down the court. I love this league because when the kids are on defense, they can't get out of the black box. It gives the offense time to learn how to pass the ball and to dribble in and try to make a basket. However, once the offense gets inside the box that the defense is in, it is a FREE FOR ALL! I am going to video his game Sunday and try to upload it to here so you can get the full effect. The other thing that is good about this league is that they do not keep score. It really takes the pressure off and helps the kids focus on learning the skills necessary for playing basketball. Here are a few pics from his first game.

All smiles as he warms up.....

Practicing his free throws.....

Waiting patiently for his turn.....

Layup...don't even know if that's how you spell that!

Hoping someone passes the ball to him.....

Aunt LaLa and Uncle Walter came to see his big game. However, I know that our life will now be dedicated to T-Ball. Parker is playing for GYAA and the fields are literally right across the road from our house. He is beyond excited about baseball. He will be on the Orioles team. I will post pics of this latest adventure after his practice Saturday. We have a pretty uneventful weekend coming up. I am excited that Jenny and Pat will be in town! Hopefully we will be able to get the kids together and let them play.

The Time is flying

I can't believe that Caroline will be 7 months old next Wednesday. Seriously, it seems like just yesterday I was at the hospital having her. She is so sweet and a little princess. We can already tell she is going to be prissy. Parker is still completely in love with his baby sis sis, as he calls her. He has so many nicknames for her. Her stats at her 6 month check up were 18 lbs and 26 inches long. She is in the 50-75th percentile, being more close to the 75th range. Parker was 18.3 lbs and 27 inches at his 6 month check up. It is still amazing to me how pretty close together they are on everything. Caroline cut two teeth today! Yes, her bottom two erupted sometime between yesterday afternoon and this afternoon. It is such a bittersweet time. I enjoy the kids getting older, but I get a little sad sometimes thinking about them not being babies for long. Half the time I forget Parker is 5! Caroline is also crawling backwards. It is hilarious. She does a little push up before she pushes herself backwards. I am going to try and catch it on video. Here are a few pictures from Caroline and Parker.

I couldn't resist this picture! I mean seriously, how hard is it for me to find a few moments every few days to update this. Apparently, it is very hard right now! HA HA Anyway, Caroline went for her 4 month check up on Tuesday and she did awesome! She weighed 14.3 lbs and was 24 1/2 inches long. We were given the go ahead for cereal (which I had already started) and fruits/veggies. She is LOVING squash. She is such a happy baby and completely OPPOSITE from Parker. I can already tell she is going to be a girly girl...we will see how long that lasts, though. She is not near as messy as Parker was. I can't believe it. I seriously don't know where the time has gone. It seems just like yesterday that he was Caroline's age. He had a low key day yesterday(the big day). He opened presents with David, myself, and my mom. Caroline was asleep through the entire thing...which I can't believe. He will have a bowling party tomorrow. I can't wait to see all the boys from his class trying to bowl...it is going to be a trip! He requested cleats and chalk for his birthday...you will see below he got way more than that. I didn't post pics of him opening those items, but he did receive them:) I also started a tradition last year and made his birthday cake for the family party. Well, this year we went looking for a Batman cake mold because that is what he wanted. We didn't find one, but Spiderman was in stock. So guess what I got to make?! You got it, a Spiderman cake. Look below to see how it turned out. Hopefully I will have some funny stories to blog about after tomorrow's party.

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; So just to catch everyone up to speed...Caroline is sleeping really well in her crib. She wakes for 1 feeding still, but I think that will change as soon as she is bumped up to 5 to 6 oz of formula. She doesn't really seem to want to eat more than 4oz, so I can't decide if it is time to bump her up or not. The doc said she wouldn't take 6 oz until around 4 months. She is such a happy baby and has been a blessing to our family. I worried that I would struggle to love a 2nd child as much as I love Parker. Let me just say, I LOVE HER as much as Parker and in a completely different way. Those of you who have 2 or soon will have 2 children, you will understand. And having a boy and a girl is so unique. I didn't realize how different they would be, but they are! Parker will be 5 next Friday. I am completely in shock about that. It seems like just yesterday I was having him. He is such a pistol and keeps us on our toes. He likes to act like he is Caroline's parent, too. He is extremely involved with all things pertaining to "sister." I am enjoying being back at work as much as I can. I miss her, but she is doing so good at her daycare that I really can't complain. Here are a few pics from the past few weeks. Hope you are all doing well!

Sibling love...she is 8 weeks 3 days old here. My friend's company is called "I Am All In Stitches." She can do anything you want...she is AWESOME! Her website is www.iamallinstitches.com and her name is Robin Trusty. She has some items on her website, but will do anything you would like her to. I have to say that I miss her something awful during the day, but I knew this was coming and that I would be going back to work. Caroline had her 2 month check up last Thursday and here are her stats...
HT- 22 1/4, inches, WT- 11.3 lbs, Head Circumference- 39.5 cm.
Here are Parker's stats from his 2 month checkup...
HT- 22 1/2 inches, WT- 11.10 lbs, Head Circumference- 39 cm.
They are definitely close together wouldn't you say? She eats about every 3 hours and is such a happy baby. We have been so blessed to have 2 great children! She only wakes for 1 night time feeding and is going to sleep on her own. We also moved her to her crib last week because I could hear EVERY move she made. I can't believe how time has flown by. I will be heading back to work when she is 8 weeks old and I am really sad that I have to go back....but we all know how that goes. At this point in her life, she is sleeping better than I EVER expected. Most nights we do not get up. Here and there we will get up for 1 feeding. I think God knew I needed a child that would love sleep as much as I do! HA HA She is smiling some and gets really focused on certain things. I wish I could read what was going on in that little mind of hers:-) Parker has adjusted extremely well to having her here. He is SOOOO over protective and wants to know where she is at all times. When I pick him up from school, the first thing out of his mouth if I don't have her with me is, "Where is sister?" He is a tremendous help and is starting to understand that Daddy has to help mommy too. At first this was extremely difficult for him to understand. We spent her 4 week old birthday at my parent's house swimming. Both kids had a blast I think!

I love to hold my baby sister!

Grammy, Parker and CarolineI love the pool!Chillin' by the poolAll the excitement wore me out!

First Road Trip as Fam of 4

Last weekend we went to visit David's parents in Huntingdon. Caroline was exactly 3 weeks old, which happened to be the same age Parker was when he took his first road trip there. We spent the weekend relaxing as much as we could and visiting with some of David's friends he grew up with. Caroline is doing GREAT and is such a happy baby. We are very blessed! She weighed 8lbs on Thursday 7/31 and got a great bill of health from the doctor for her 2 week check up. She has been out and about with David and I. She is definitely a trooper. She went to my school 4 different days while David and I set my classroom up. I think with the second child you tend to be a little more relaxed and you just go with the flow. Having 2 children hasn't been that bad of an adjustment. What has been bad is the sibling jealousy that Parker is exhibiting. We know that it will just take time for him to get used to everything, but he truly adores his sister. Here are a few pics from the past couple of weeks.

My mom, Parker and Caroline the day we came home from the hospital.
Caroline and Gracely's first meeting! Last Friday, the 18th of July, I was scheduled to be induced at 6:00 a.m. I woke up around 2:30 not feeling great and much to my surprise I began having contractions at 3:00 a.m. I timed them for a while, got in the shower and by 4:30 was out and telling David it was time. We got there 40 mins before I was scheduled to be there. I explained that I was in labor and that the contractions were coming every 5 to 6 mins. That apparently didn't matter because I waited for 40 mins crying and in pain. Once I was back in a room, my contractions became more intense, but because I had not had my bag of fluids, they couldn't give me the epidural. I was able to get a little relief with stadol...but I will not take that again. I felt completely out of my mind. They gave me my epidural around 7:30 and checked to see if I had dilated...I went from 4 cm to 8 cm in an hour and a half....but the epidural caused me to stall so they did give me a little pitocin to kick me over the 8 cm mark. Everything went smooth and I was able to push her out in 3 pushes...sorry if that was too graphic! Recovery has been great and I am feeling back to my old self. Here are some pics from Caroline's first days...
She's here!
Parker finally getting to hold his baby sister...he has on a big brother shirt that is embroidered with, "I'm the Big Brother" and it has the Memphis Tiger emblem on it! We will be checking into the hospital tomorrow at 5:45 a.m. for my induction. There are so many emotions going through my body right now that I don't even know where to begin. I am very excited about meeting my daughter and watching her and Parker grow up together. I am very nervous about the delivery...mainly because my delivery with Parker went so well that I am scared that the epidural won't work this time. I know....a little pessimistic. I am overjoyed that after these long 9 months, I will FINALLY get to see what my daughter looks like and if she has hair:) My list of emotions could go on and on, but I won't bore you. Check for an update the laptop is going with us to the hospital!

Is she ever going to come???

Well, another week and no baby. Let me tell you, for those of you who are expecting your 2nd child, this class was GREAT! It was offered through Methodist Hospital and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

The day started with Parker making a Happy Birthday card for Caroline. He was so cute drawing a birthday cake. The instructor then read a book to the kids about mommy being pregnant and what goes on with her body. She, the instructor, also passed around replicas of what the baby looks like at 10 wks, 15 wks, 20 wks, and 30 wks. Parker was completely enthralled with these babies. The kids then watched an Arthur video that did a great job of explaining all of the things that are going to be happening soon.

At this point, we took a small break and all of the kids were given Big Brother/Big Sister shirts. Parker is sleeping in his as I type! Now to the hands on part. Parker was able to practice changing a diaper on a baby and then was taught how to swaddle the baby. Once he had that baby wrapped up, he fed the baby a bottle. Needless to say, David and I could not stop smiling and laughing. Because as gentle as he was at times, he was just as rough at times. I know he will be okay with a real baby, but it is still scary to think about.

For the finale to our day, our instructor took us on a tour of the floor we would be staying on and showed the kids the nursery. Parker was so excited to see the little babies in the nursery. He has said a few times recently that he is ready for Caroline to be here. Little does he know he is probably gonna want to send her back once she is here! HA HA Hope you enjoy the little pic we took. It is priceless.

Fun in the sun...

Friday, while everyone in my family was at the hospital waiting on news about Gracely, I decided to take Parker to the Germantown Center pool to play for a little while. We were eating up time until Gracely arrived. The pool is GREAT for kids. There are tons of fountains, buckets of water, a slide...lots to occupy a little one with. And, it is only 1 ft 6 in. at its deepest section! Parker had so much fun just running around and playing in the water. I think his favorite part was the slide! It was the neatest expierence! When we were pregnant with Parker, 4D was becoming popular. Our insurance didn't cover it and no one really mentioned it to us. Well, this pregnancy, I have been keeping my eyes out for any information and while insurance still doesn't cover it, it was reasonably priced so we decided to go for it. We got a DVD and 34 pictures in about 23 minutes of looking at our little girl. With out further delay, here is Caroline...and I must say, she has her big brother's profile:)

This first picture isn't the clearest, but she has her arm extended and was punching me in the stomach:)
Here is a good shot of her profile. I really think she looks like Parker did when he was a baby. Here she is smiling. It was so cute!

Here she is already talking. There were several times that she kept opening her mouth and closing it, like she was talking to us. There were even a couple of times that she threw her head back as if she was already throwing a temper tantrum! And one last shot of Caroline. She just looks so peaceful here.

My last Dr.'s appointment was a week ago. I passed my diabetes test and had to have a shot because I am Rh-. For those who don't know that that is, I will explain at a later date. We are now to the Dr. visits every 2 weeks. I go again on the 20th. I can't believe that we are only 11 weeks away from meeting her.

On a side note, my sis-in-law has been put on bed rest due to her amniotic fluid dropping. She is holding strong at a level they are happy with now, but please say a little prayer for both mom and my niece Gracely. She was in the hospital for a few days, but was able to come home last Sunday.

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Mother's Day. I will post again soon. Parker has already had his end of the year program so that will be blogged about soon.

Roll Tide....not by choice!

Last weekend was the A-Day Game in Tuscaloosa. For anyone who doesn't know, David is a DIE HARD Alabama fan and has started brainwashing Parker. I have tried every tactic I know to avoid this happening, but he is the dad! Parker is OBSESSED with the quarterback, John Parker Wilson. They share the same birthday and his brother is Ross(he was the quarterback from the high school team on Two a Days on MTV a while back). Anyway, I have tons of pics to share and thought you all would love to know that we are peeling because we got so sunburned last weekend. I know, I know....there is a thing called sunscreen!

The front entrance to the stadium.
David and Parker wanted a picture by the statue...there were so many people that I told them to stand back and I would do the best I could. Here is Parker doing what all the kids were doing...throwing football. He loves to play any kind of sports, so this was right up his ally. We had about 1 hour and 30 minutes to spare when we got there. Gates didn't open until noon and when they did, the crowd kept coming in. There were 78,200 people in attendance. FOR A SCRIMMAGE! I mean, that's a little ridiculous. People were tailgating like it was a regular football game.
Here is Paul "Bear" Bryant. They have all of these cool statues of old coaches along the grass that leads to the stadium. Parker and Daddy thought this one was the coolest, though.

Parker squinting. This was a reoccurring theme throughout the day. I guess the sun was too much when he looked at the camera. I thought it was pretty shady here:)Here's us waiting in line at one of the gates. We stood here for about 45 minutes...only for them to NEVER open this gate. They said all gates would be open, but they were not telling the truth. Now, I will say that this standing in line was not the only thing we did. We searched for a bathroom because of course I had to go as soon as we got here. Being pregnant and not close to a bathroom is not fun!
Once we were in the stadium, David had me take this picture. He has the picture from EVERY trip we have taken here. For the 2 hours we waited inside the stadium for the game, they were replaying highlights from the previous season. I will say I got real excited seeing clips from the TN/Alabama game...because the big orange got crushed!
Squinting again! At this point, there weren't very many people in the stadium, so we let him have a little freedom. About 5 minutes in to the game, the announcer came over the loud system and said the lower half of the stadium was closed and that if people were coming in from outside they had to use the spirals and sit in the upper deck.
And to the real reason we went to Tuscaloosa. David's dad was even MORE of a fan of Alabama than David is. My brother and sister-in-law bought this brick in memory of David's dad for a Christmas present. It was very neat seeing the brick after all this time of knowing it was there. Dossie would be very proud to know his name is permanently on the campus.
And here is little man absolutely worn out. He had not had a nap all day and this was taken about 4:30 or 5:00 pm, right when we were pulling back in to West Point,MS. We were staying at my parents' condo at Old Waverly. If you have made it through this long post, congrats! We got out early to go eat at Perkins. David and I LOVE to drive in the snow. The next couple of pics are of David and Parker making a snow man. It was very funny because Parker didn't have his gloves at home. We left them at school somehow...so we improvised and used socks to cover his hands. She was very cooperative yesterday and we were able to see the four chambers of her heart and everything else that is important! She is weighing in at 1lb, 6oz. I will be 25 weeks on Friday. It is so hard to believe that I am this far along. The date on the ultrasound is wrong. Who knows why they won't change it. We are still on target for the July 26th due date. I am DREADING being so pregnant during the summer. My blood pressure is FINALLY back to normal. I just pray it keeps coming down.

Parker is preparing everyday for his baby sister. He went with us again to the ultrasound and he was so amazed with everything. He says something cute about the baby everyday, like..."Was the baby dieing to come get me from school?" He really can't wait for her to be here and is looking forward to summer. He thinks "school" takes too long! HA HA We told him that nothing about school was going to change for many years. Of course the teachers' kid doesn't like school.

Hope you all are well and have recovered from the disappointing Memphis loss. I truly was devastated, but very proud of our boys. We need to remember, they made it to the CHAMPIONSHIP game! Have a great week!

It's a ........

Baby girl! We are beyond thrilled to add a little girl to our family. Everything went great at the doc yesterday. Parker went with us to see the baby and was a little sad at first that she's a she. But he warmed up to the idea and by last night, he said "Night Night Caroline" and kissed my belly. It was so cute! My blood pressure was GREAT. Guess the meds are working. The doctor moved my due date back to July 26th, which was my original due date. So, I am offically past the half way mark. I can't stop smiling and all I can think about is PINK! We will have another ultrasound on the 8th because she was not cooperating with the tech. Everything was measuring perfectly, but they need to clearly see all 4 chambers of her heart. Parker was the same way. I hope all who read this are having a great week. I promise to update with snow pictures soon.

Another year older....

Well, it is official, I am another year older. Sometimes I don't mind my birthdays and then other times I hate them. This one is kinda in between. My hubby and son greeted me with cards when I got out of the shower this morning. Parker's was SO CUTE. He had written "Mom" on the outside and signed his name on the inside. Most of you are probably like, that's not that big of a deal. But it is to me, because it shows how grown up he is becoming. I can't get over that he is 4 and such a big man now. He was so excited to show me what he had written. Once I was at work, I was greeted by an abundance of flowers from my students and presents from them as well. I even received 2 cheesecakes...one of which was homemade by my room mom. Let's just say, DELICIOUS! During my break today, flowers were delivered to me...from Parker and David. Here is a pic of them. This doesn't do them justice...but you get the idea.

I will wrap the birthday night up at my parents with a cake homemade by my grandmother. It doesn't get much better than that. I will probably do a very low key dinner with a few friends and David this weekend. We haven't really planned anything and I am okay with that. I mean, is 31 really that big a deal? I try really hard to ignore the number and remember...I feel as young as I did in high school/early college. It's all in my mind:) I have to say, David is pretty wonderful. You see, his dad died on this day 17 years ago and his grandmother 12 years ago on this day. He has done everything he can to make this day special for me since we have been together. And deep down, this is a sad day for him and his mom. I just want to say, Thank you to him for going above and beyond to make birthdays special.

Little Nannie Update

I went to the doc on Tuesday, 2/11, for my monthly checkup. I have lost 10 more pounds and the baby's heartrate was 145 bpm. My blood pressure is getting better, which made me happy. I think I have been feeling the baby for about 2 weeks now. I am much more aware of that feeling than I was when I was pregnant with Parker. I have read that lots of people have felt the 2nd baby a lot earlier than they did with the 1st baby. We are eagerly awaiting the BIG ULTRASOUND on March 11th to find out if we are on the blue team or the pink team...we both have a feeling another very active Nannie boy is on the way. Only time will tell. I hope you all are doing well....until next time.

Harlem Globetrotters

It's been a long while since I have blogged, so I thought I would update on something really fun that we did as a family. We took Parker to the Harlem Globetrotters in January with some friends of ours. We started out at the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, which was an experience. Parker was intrigued by everything on the walls and the videos being played on the little tv's and big screen. He wanted to get up and play the drums on the stage! After dinner, we headed over to the FedEx Forum. Let's just say, it was a BLAST! I had been 10 years ago since I had been to the globetrotters and didn't remember it being all that exciting. Boy, was I surprised when I laughed hysterically the entire night. Parker would crack up and he grinned the entire night. Here are a few pics from the night.

Baby update...and a few others

Well, I finally went to the doc yesterday....I say finally because it has been a LONG 4 weeks:) I got to hear the heartbeat which was around 150 and I could hear the baby moving around alot. It was such a thrill to hear that heartbeat. It made it all kinda sink in. I had lost a pound..HA HA! I actually lost almost 30 pounds the first 5 months I was pregnant with Parker. I don't think that is going to happen this time. I am still really nauseated and have gotten sick a few times. TMI I know. I go back on February 12th and Wes and Lauren find out what they are having on the 11th of February. I CAN'T WAIT!

My mother had knee replacement surgery today and it was a success. She is not feeling good at the moment but she knows that in the long run this is the best thing that could have ever happened to her. She will be moving in with David, Parker and myself for 2 weeks after she gets out of the hospital. Never thought I would have a visitor for that long:-) It will be nice helping her get better though.

As I had previously mentioned in a different post, my friend Stephanie was not doing well. I am sad to say that on Friday, Jan. 11th she slipped off to heaven in her sleep. While I know she is in a better place, I miss her terribly. She was an amazing friend. There were so many people at her visitation and funeral! She touch many lives. For those of you with daughters, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get them the Guardasil shot. It can prevent cervical cancer!!! I will be on this soap box for a long time, probably the rest of my life.

Our Christmas

Our holiday began on Thursday, December 20th...that was our last day with students! Ha ha I woke up that morning to the room spinning about 90 to nothing. David helped me to the bathroom where I proceeded to get sick. I wasn't sure if it was due to pregnancy or if I was legitimately sick. Needless to say, I was sick. We left for Huntingdon on Friday after we all got out of work and I proceeded to lay in the bed for the entire weekend. David finally took me to the doctor in Jackson, TN where I was told that I am suffering from Vertigo. And guess what, they can't give me anything to take! However, it is progressively getting better. We had a great time at Mimi's and MacMac's. Parker got loads of presents, which I don't have a single picture of. If I am not the one taking pictures, they usually don't get taken! Ha Ha We left Huntingdon on Monday morning and trucked it back to Memphis. We dropped Parker at my parents for a while and David and I finished up on our shopping. It never fails that I am in the stores on Christmas Eve. I promise next year that I am going to start shopping early. We spent Christmas Eve night at my parents. Parker was SO excited. We went to church and then were back at my parents to make cookies for Santa. Here are a few pictures from us making cookies and sprinkling Reindeer food. Excuse his outfit...he picked it out.

Parker sprinkling the reindeer food!
Parker and Nana making cookies for Santa...
Parker putting them on the plate....And the final touch...the big glass of milk:) Parker was beside himself and said that Santa wasn't going to eat all of the cookies. He was going to save one for Parker to eat.

Parker went to sleep pretty easy that night. He didn't stir until 7:30 a.m. and told David and I to be quiet because he heard Santa and didn't want him to go away. It was SO CUTE. When we finally ventured downstairs, Parker was pumped about the things Santa had left. He even left a few things for the baby!

This last picture is of my brother and sis-in-law. He is currently in school at Farmington Presbyterian Day School with 6 of the kids from his old daycare. He LOVES going to school! Probably more for his friends than the actual work he has to do. Art is not his favorite, but he does love to color in the lines. His best friend Zachary is in his class and they are definitely partners in crime. If one is in trouble, the other is usually not far behind. Parker is obsessed with ALL sports. It doesn't matter what sport it is, he wants to play it. He is watching the Alabama game as I type. His favorite player is John Parker Wilson (Alabama's Quaterback). They share the same birthday! Parker is almost as obsessed with Alabama as his daddy. He gets mad at me when I cheer for Ole Miss!

Here are a couple of pictures from my grandmother's 80th birthday party. Granny turned 80 in October and we had a family reunion/party for her. It was held at my parent's cabin in Crockett County.

My dad, Aunt Jane, and Granny
My granny, her sister Aunt Racherl(they are the only 2 left out of 11 siblings), Uncle Tommy(Aunt Rachel's husband) and James (my cousin Becca's husband)Parker and daddy going for a ride on the 4-wheeler

Parker playing on the porchParker being a monster....

My little man being calm for about 3 minutes:)The cabin....

I know this was a little random, but these are some of the best pictures I have of Parker. As many people know by now, I am pregnant. David and I found out on Thanksgiving morning that we are expecting. We have been trying for a little while, so we are absolutely THRILLED to be adding to our family. Parker can't WAIT to be a big brother. He insists that we are having a girl and that his Uncle Biggs and Aunt LaLa are having a boy. We shall see. My parents can't wait to have 2 more grandchildren in the mix. Wes and Lauren are expecting a baby on June 28th. I went for my first OB appointment on the 18th and I was exactly 7 weeks. We were able to see the baby on the ultrasound(looks like a grain of rice) and the heartbeat(167 bpm). It's funny how things work out! I know a ton of people pregnant now. It must be in the water. With this new bundle of joy on the way, I am going to attempt to be better about updating my blog. Not sure who reads this, but for those few that do, I want to keep you up to date.

There are so many things going on in our lives right now, but one is hitting way too close to home. My dear friend Stephanie Vasofsky is dying of Cervical Cancer. She is 28 years old and has a 2 year old daughter. We have been very good friends since the beginning of my teaching career. She has had such a positive influence on my life. She has helped me refocus my life on the important things and helped me realize the things that don't matter so much. I have a huge whole in my heart thinking about her impending death. We all know that she will be in a better place and that she will feel no pain. She is the strongest Christian I know and I thank God for her daily. There were 9 of us who taught 3rd grade at Kate Bond and we have all stayed in touch. She will be greatly missed when she passes on, but our memories of her will live on forever. Please pray for her family and if you would like to visit her website it is www.caringbridge.org/visit/stephanievasofsky

Here are a few pics of Steph.....

Angie, Carn, Lindsay, Stephanie, and Me at the McDade Halloween party many moons ago!
Stephanie and her dear husband Randy in Gatlinburg,TN during Fall Break.

Lindsay, Nicole, Stephanie, and Angie

I will cherish these pictures as long as I live. The time I have had with Stephanie has been precious time. The time we have with ALL of our friends and family should be cherished because we don't know what tomorrow holds. Parker has brought such joy to mine and David's life. He is hilarious and very caring. But he can be the toughest, meanest, roughest little boy around, too. He is constantly on the go! He loves school and asks to go on the weekends...maybe that is a hint to me that he doesn't like us! No, I know he loves us. One of his favorite things to do is go to the zoo. I thought I would update those of you who read this with a few of my favorite pics of my little man.

I remember when Parker was a baby, I couldn't wait for all of the milestones. Now I can say I wish that time could stand still sometimes. I miss his baby days. We still call him "the baby" and it makes Keith mad...not really, but he was glad when he heard David say, I have to go pick up Parker, not the baby. I miss the diaper changing, the bottles, the feeding. You new mommies, cherish every minute. Because before you know it, they will be 3 and a half and very independent and won't let you do anything for them! But every minute I have with Parker is a treasured minute. He makes me smile with the smallest of things. Like when he smiles at me, or randomly says, "I love you momma."

Now Parker is going to have his choice of women someday...Tatum, Sydney, Riley, Mackenzie just to name a few. I am glad Cindy is having a boy. He and Parker can fight over all the women:) I want to extend a good luck to all of you on your soon to be labors. And remember, I would gladly keep any of the babies whenever you need a break.

Death....and new life

A couple of weeks ago, I expierenced the death of a grandparent for the first time. My Popa passed away peacefully on March 29th and we buried him on Palm Sunday. I was so sad losing Popa. He was an AWESOME grandfather. He was always at all of our baseball, softball, basketball, etc...games. It wasn't until recently he was not able to get around. And at times, I have been very bitter that my Popa wasn't really Popa. He had not walked in more than 2 years, and he lived much of his later life in great pain and in a bed. So while I was extrememly sad when he passed, I was almost relieved. He wasn't in pain anymore and I know he is in a better place. I hate that Parker will not get to grow up knowing him, but I am extremely greatful that Parker did get to meet him and know him for the 3 and a half years Parker has been here. He probably will not remember Popa, but we have pics of the two of them that I will forever treasure. Here is one of them.

With Popa's death came 2 more deaths, a good friend from my past's grandfather and Allison's Aunt. They say that deaths and actually most things come in threes. Allison's aunt Barbara was such an amazing, gorgeous, fun loving woman. While I only met her once, she and I emailed quite frequently and talked on the phone some, too. She really might have been one of the funniest people I have ever known. I am constantly praying for Allison and her family because they are struggling with this very unexpected event in their lives. And the pain of losing a loved one is a pain like no other.

So now with all of these deaths, I realize how lucky we are to have the time we do on this Earth. And the time we have with our loved ones should be cherished and lived to the fullest. And I am reminded with death, there is new life. David and I just got word that Tanya's water broke. And Nicky and Jeremy are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Sydney and we can't forget Chuck and Cindy's little boy that should be making an appearance soon, too. See, 3 of our friends are having babies. So why some lives have ended, new ones are beginning and I am very happy for all of our friends who are experiencing parenthood. And I am grateful for the memories I have of Popa. Memories are what help us go on.

LASIK....the greatest invention ever!

Many of you reading this(not sure if I should say many) probably know that I had LASIK eye surgery on Thursday, January 25th. Let me tell you, it is the best thing I have ever done in my life!!!!!!!!!!! With the exception of having Parker of course. I can't get over how well I can see. The morning after the procedure, I had to go in for a post op visit. I was reading off the 20/15 line! I don't remember EVER being able to read off that line. Now, my friend Stephanie and her precious little Zoe were gracious enough to take me to the appointment. Stephanie of course was a little wierded out she said when she realized that 3 different doctors had come in to look at my eyes. The reason being I had a fiber on my right eye near the flap they had created to laser my cornea. It felt as if I had a contact in my eye. Needless to say, after much undo worry, they removed the fiber and all is fine. I go tomorrow for the fiber removal check up and then I go Friday for the 1 week post op check up. I am so excited about this gift my parents gave me that I don't know what to do! Having the last 2 days off of work this week sure was an added bonus! Not to mention, NO MORE GLASSES!

Friends

I figured it was about time to update my blog. I am still recovering from David Loyd's surprise party Friday night. Maybe I am finally too old to party like I was 21. What a blast it was though! I really did enjoy seeing all of the frat. brothers out and about having fun. I always do enjoy going out with that crew! Granier coming in town was such a wonderful surprise for EVERYONE! I was really glad that April and Anotonio were able to make it out, too. April looks fabulous after having a baby 2 weeks ago. You go April! I was really emotional at times(probably due to being a little intoxicated) watching the video for Loyd and realizing what an amazing best friend I have in Allison. How did I get so lucky to have such a wonderful friend? She truly is like a sister to me! She and David are going to be a great married couple! If this surprise party was any indication of what is to come for the reception, we are all going to be hurting for a few weeks! July 7th, here we all come!

Update from Halloween. Parker was a cowboy/sheriff. He was absolutely precious...if you can say that about a boy:) He and Emma and Ella Cate went trick or treating for the 4th year in a row. It is the Nannie/Henderson family tradition every Halloween to take the kids around our neighborhood and to usually eat pizza. This year, we skipped the dinner part and just got them trick or treating earlier than normal. Emma and Parker did such a good job walking up to doors and saying "trick or treat." I had to keep Parker from going in to a few of the houses! Here are a few pics from that night.

We have 7 school days until Thanksgiving Break and then we come back for 3 weeks and we will be off for Christmas Break. I can't wait! This year has been the hardest year yet. I still love teaching, though. And the little breaks make it fully worth all the stress we endure. Well, back to the laundry.

Finally Blogging

After much resistance, I have given into blogging. I often read my friends blogs on myspace, but have never done a blog. I decided after reading April's blog on here, that I would give it a try. At work, they are encouraging us to do this to keep in touch with our student's parents. Have I done it??? No...but now I can say I have started.

For those of you who will read this, I will update you on those I call family. I am married to a wonderful man, David. We have been doing this married thing for 4 years and a few months. We have a son, Parker, who will be 3 in a few weeks. We found out before our 1st anniversary we were pregnant with him. Talk about shock! Would we change it? Absolutely not! He is the most amazing thing that has happened to either of us. He is so fun! He completely shocks us on a daily basis. The things that come out of his mouth are hilarious!!! David is in his 6th year teaching and I am in my 5th year teaching. David is actually contemplating a new job and is struggling with wether he is ready to leave the classroom. I think he might not be quite ready to leave his students yet. I guess this enough for now. Will update as soon as I remember!
